- Under the "Enhancing Education and Youth Empowerment in Northwest Nigeria: Innovative School-Complementary and Community Approaches Program", Development Impact wishes tocontract an implementing agency to design and implement a set of interventionsin North-West Nigeria in the states of Kano, Jigawa and Sokoto states in schoolcatchment areas[1],targeting students and out-of-school adolescents, their parents and broadercommunity members.The implementing agency will behired to design and implement three interventions or activities: - Activity 1:Community Mobilization and Facilitated Community Screenings to be delivered in66 school catchment areas (SCA).- Activity 2:Mentor-driven Youth Clubs with Life Skills Program to be delivered in 44 schoolcatchment areas, i.e., two thirds of SCAs of Activity 1. - Activity 3:Mentor-driven Youth Clubs with Digital Buddies Program to be delivered in 22school catchment areas, i.e., half of the SCAs of Activity 2.These interventions will beevaluated through a cluster randomized control trial led by a DIME-led researchteam as part of its partnership with the European Union country office inNigeria. The overall goal of theseactivities is to improve the opportunitiesfor primary and junior-secondary-aged youth (10-15-year-olds) and their senseof empowerment, especially girls. This will be achieved through three mainoutcome areas: i) Improved parental and community-level attitudestowards education and gender equality, through community mobilization, action,community screenings and other social and behavioral change campaigns (SBCC), ii) Improved life skills in adolescent girls and boys and iii) Improveddigital skills leading to higher completion rates of primary school, higherenrolment and transition rates to junior secondary schools and higher sense ofempowerment for the youth.The timeline of theseinterventions will be between September 2024 to March 2025.
