Request for proposals are invited for Engagement of Consultant Service for Engineering Assessment, Design & Construction of Fecal Sludge Management System. Deadline for Offer Submission: 9th September 2022; 5:00pm WAT. Brief Summary Description of Project: Mercy Corps is an international relief and development organization working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people build secure, productive and just communities. Mercy Corps has been implementing the SmallTown Wash (STWASH) program in the Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) states of Nigeria since March 2020. This program is funded by USAID and is intended to improve access to WASH facilities in these areas. Mercy Corps has been approved to expand this programming with specific implementation of Fecal Sludge Management in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. The specific interventions included under STWASH expansion include construction of a Fecal Sludge Treatment Facility (FSTF) for informal camps and vulnerable host communities. The intervention will also include institutional strengthening of sector actors across the sanitation value chain. These activities aim at improving health outcomes and the sustainability of safely managed sanitation access within the geographic coverage of target location in Maiduguri, Borno State. Mercy Corps chooses to hold competitive proposals for the selection of consultancy firm (s) who will implement our requirements. We believe that competitive proposal are the only way to fairly select the best firm for the job while ensuring good prices and preventing corruption.
