Description:
The Unipods initiative is a key pillar of the Timbuktoo Project. The project seeks to enhance the capacity of Africa's innovation ecosystem to collectively solve its own developmental challenges. Building on the initial success of ongoing UNDP initiatives, UNDP Timbuktoo, from here to Africa's Future Project on "Fostering Innovation Ecosystems in Public Universities" is partnering with seven (7) universities in Nigeria to establish innovation Pods. The universities are being supported to establish functional engineering and creative design makerspaces focusing on agro-tech, digital solutions, electronics, renewable energy, and creatives. The project will also link the capability created at these universities with other public and private universities in Nigeria and Africa.
