The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. Convened annually by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the CSW provides a critical platform for assessing progress, sharing experiences, and formulating policy recommendations that advance the rights of women and girls globally. This year's CSW69 marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing+30) — a historic commitment adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, which continues to serve as the most comprehensive global blueprint for advancing women's rights. the session provided a vital opportunity to reflect on the gains made over three decades, recommit to unfulfilled promises, and set a bold course toward achieving gender equality by 2030.
