• Tenders are invited for Consultancy Services for the Improvement of Road Safety, Capacity Building and Data Collection Implementing the Abia State Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development Project - Phase I (Roads) Otherwise Referred to as “the Project” including: 2. The Principal Objective of this Project is to Contribute to Socio-Economic Development, Poverty Reduction and Integration of the Regions of the Country through an Improved Holistic Integrated Infrastructure Development Project that Captures the Major Economic Areas of the State (Aba and Umuahia). The Overall Objective is to Improve the Economy and the Lives of the Inhabitants of Abia State. 3. The Project includes the following components: A. Civil Works This component includes the rehabilitation and construction of roads in Aba and Umuahia, as well as Remediation of two erosion ravaged communities. B. Consultancy Services i. Consultancy Services for the Improvement of Road Safety, Capacity Building and Data Collection ii. Consultancy Services for implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) iii. Consultancy Services for External Auditor for ABSIIDP iv. Consultancy Services for the Sensitization of HIV/AIDS, STI, TB Mitigation and Gender Issues v. Consultancy Services for implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) vi. Consultancy services for the design review and supervision of construction works under ABSIIDP. 08034621330. Email: absiidp@yahoo.com (viii) Project Management by the provision of essential goods and non-consulting activities by the State Project Implementation Unit implementing the preceding consultancies and activities leading to the implementation of the Abia State Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development project - Phase I (Roads). C. Safeguards Implementation, Compensation and Resettlement. This component makes provision for compensation and resettlement of the project affected people in accordance with the Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs). D. Capacity Building This component consists of technical assistance and training to the Ministry of Works and other support ministries. This includes provision of training to State PIU, and Technical Assistance for Road Maintenance Management. The component also includes training of contractors and youth in contract management and labour based road construction.
