- Expression of Interest are invited for Commissioned Research The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is a professional body established by knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to become members of the Accounting Profession and to raise those standards from time to time. As part of her Initiative towards continuing its public interest mandate through research into accounting, finance and related areas, the Institute wishes to inform the Nigerian research community that following the Council’s approval of Two million, five hundred thousand naira (N2,500,000:00) research grant, a call for Expression of Interest (EOI) on a proposed research is hereby made. The process of accessing the grant involves EOI by interested researchers (supported by a Concept Note), to be followed by submission of full proposals by only those whose EOI contain research project that are considered fundable by the Institute. RESEARCH FOCUS Category 1: IT & the Accounting Profession Thematic Area 1-Financial Technology 2-Artificial Intelligence 3-Crypto-Asset Accounting Category 2: Sustainability and Environmental Accounting Thematic Area 4-Environmental Reporting 5-Water Management Accounting 6-Integrated Reporting 7-Sustainability Development Goals Category 3: Cross-Cutting Thematic Area 8-Forensic Audit, Investigation and Fraud Control 9-Tax Policy and Planning 10-Entrepreneurship and Wealth Creation 11-Agriculture, Solid Mineral and Petroleum Accounting Eligibility • ICAN members (resident in Nigeria), including those working in academic institutions, companies, other research organizations and NGOs. ICAN members resident outside Nigeria are encouraged to collaborate with members resident in Nigeria. • Non-ICAN members resident in Nigeria or outside Nigeria are encouraged to collaborate with ICAN members resident in Nigeria
